My Story

When I joined this school in Grade 11, I looked forward to making my mark and exploring the interests that may pave the way for my future. I soon found a new niche that played an instrumental role in my adjustment to the school. I stumbled upon the DPS Nacharam Gavel Club while looking for avenues to improve my confidence and public speaking skills. Two years later, not only did I find what I was looking for; in addition to it, I got the opportunity to be part of this community of wonderful people who constantly strive to better themselves and encourage you to do the same!

This club has helped build me by giving me the opportunity to wear many hats – an Organizing Committee Member, a Club Officer, a Mentor, and sometimes a Role Taker for when someone took off from the meetings. Whichever hat I had on, I enjoyed all the moments and made sure to take back something from every single experience. I am grateful for all the inspirational individuals I have met on my journey, who have taught me the importance of discipline, consistency, and honest effort. Learning and communicating with individuals and dignitaries from varied backgrounds has been a truly enriching and humbling experience!

The opportunities for creativity and growth in this club are unlimited. In such a supportive and diverse environment, you will find that the people around you have different skill sets that can assess you and help you improve. Not only can you become an eloquent speaker, but you can also improve your interpersonal relationships and social skills. Whether you are fluent in speech or not, this club is always open to you. Your passion for speech is all that matters. All you have to do is participate. This is the best advice I can give you to make you thrive, not only in this club but wherever you go!
