Kashika Dochania

Hello there! I am Kashika Dochania, a mentor for the Delhi Public School Nacharam Gavel Club. Currently, I am a student at ICFAI Business School. You would most likely find me sketching, dancing, reading, or passionately talking about Dan Brown and his books. I don't generally believe in quotes but here's one that helps me prepare myself for the day ahead: "Fake it till you make it."

My Story

Sometimes you are unsure of certain decisions you make, but they turn out to be the best decisions you ever made. The DPS Nacharam Gavel Club is one such decision of mine. Back in the year 2019, I applied to be an Organizing Committee member. At the time, I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, and being very honest, I doubted my decision initially, but my belief kept me from stepping back. To this day, I feel so content to have taken that opportunity, and now I wouldn’t doubt doing anything for this club at any point in time.

One can learn from anything if they desire. When I started as an OC member, most of my task was to observe students in the meetings and make notes based on my observation. During this process, I understood how much humans could grasp just by observing other people’s actions and movements. That’s also when I learned the right way to persuade and motivate people. All this helped me a lot in my role as President. In 2020 with everything shifting online, I discovered the vast role adaptability, patience, and critical thinking have in paving an organization’s path to success. My time as an Officer improved my communication, leadership, and social skills. I wouldn’t be wrong if I said that the DPS, Nacharam Gavel Club, has made me a better person and shaped me into a better leader.

In all my years of experience, one thing that has remained constant is the interest and enthusiasm of the people associated with the club. Following that, my advice to anyone reading this, never let anyone else decide your interest; if you are unsure, give it a try. Great people say, “ hope for the best, prepare for the worst. “ With this, I also want you to know that you can always approach me for any help because once you are a part of the Gavel Club, you are forever a part of this family.
