Bipasha Sinha

Hello there Gaveliers! This is Bipasha Sinha, and I was the Parliamentarian for the club during the year 2020-21.

My Story

Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel. It was truly an astounding and enriching experience. At first, I was a member of this club, and it was all so new to me. Slowly when I started to participate more during the club meetings, I started to get a better grip on my vocabulary. I learned new words in every single meeting and got to know my fellow members and officers well. In every meeting, some of the other members shared their experiences or gave their views on specific topics, making me think about everything from a completely different perspective. I still remember how eagerly I used to look forward to the next club meetings.

I always looked up to my senior officers and wished that someday I could be in their shoes but little did I know that the day was not too far. This club has taught me a lot and made me a confident and an eloquent speaker. I always had this huge fear of stage fright. Due to this, I used to tend to forget my speech, and that fear made me extremely reluctant to go on stage and speak. This club has undoubtedly changed me into the very confident and outgoing person that I am today.

What I would like to convey to all the members is that nobody is a born speaker. It's always a learning process, and everybody fails at one point. What matters is whether you learn from that failure or you give up. Always choose the former and believe in yourself. Remind yourself every day that you are a confident speaker. Participate actively in the club, and I can assure you that you, yourself, will feel the difference and wouldn't fret to speak in public. Lastly, I would like to conclude by saying that believe in yourself, take on your challenges, dig deep within yourself to conquer fears.
